About Yvonne

Yvonne was only 6 years old when she saw a painting competition held in a mall that sparked her curiosity about art.

 

She later pursued her interest academically, having graduated from Temasek Polytechnic with a Diploma in Visual Communication and a major in Electronic/Digital Media Design. Since then, she has worked in diverse sectors from consumer to technology across a career that spanned over 20 years. Her creative interests vary from simple illustrations to contemporary collages.

 

She decided that now is the time to give back. The result? Heartist: a passion project designed to help everyone grow and connect with themselves through art, particularly children and seniors with mental disabilities. 

 

Yvonne’s calm personality, curiosity, positivity, and unending patience make her the ideal instructor for both children and adults. Family and friends would describe her as someone who is dependable, hardworking, and has a heart of gold and a high degree of empathy, integrity, and responsibility—all traits that make you feel safe leaving your loved ones in her creative care.

 

Outside of work, Yvonne is a mother to three cats Rush, Taro, and Nana. She pours her love into friendships, baking, cooking, travelling, and photography. You’ll likely find her outside hiking, rock climbing, fund-raising for the needy, and knee-deep in community cat rescue initiatives. To date, she has fostered and rehomed eight cats!
